So far I have kept my blog pretty private, that being I don't post about it on any sort of networking site, because I fear what other people will say about it, seeing as I do have about 3 arrogant people on my Facebook who will just worry me with their conceited views about people who blog. That being said, I have opened myself up to the world wide web by signing up to a website called 365project.org. This website was created after Taylor McKnight started taking one photo a day on January 1st, 2004. Now, what you post on this website is up to you, it can be a self portrait, picture of a plant you are growing, or just random inspirational images that you have taken that day. Now there are only two rules to this, the first rule only aplies if you are doing self portraits and that is:
A self portrait is a photo of yourself taken by you - it is not a photo of you taken by someone else and it is not a photo of something you hold near and dear to your heart. Please don’t try to interpret ‘self portrait’ into something drastically different than what it is.
The second rule is:
That no matter what you are doing, you must take one photo each day, this photo must be taken by you not anyone else no matter what it is of.
The great thing about this site is that no matter how great or bad you are at photography, there is always the hope that after taking one photo every day for a year, you would have gained some insight into the boundaries of your camera, the type of photography you are good at and you would have somewhat perfected your skills.
I personally have taken on the self portrait 365 challenge in order to see my change from the 3rd of August 2010 to the 3rd of August 2011. So what I will leave you with is a photograph that I really like taken by Koshi, most of his photo's are inspired by nature, his small children and their toys.
